• In the qualification for "two-high"(ie. hi-tech enterprises and hi-tech production) enterprise which is organized by Xiangtan Hi-Tech Industrial Zone in the first half of the year, all the 7 enterprises such as Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Hiro Lift company ,West group etc. passed the qualification. 

• On Aug. 22^nd, Juergen Bode, professor of the Dortmund International Management School in Germany, visited Xiangtan Hi-Tech Zone, hoping to establish a long term cooperation relationship with Xiangtan Hi-Tech Zone to send German student trainees to Xiangtan. He also wants to extend the relationship between his university and German enterprises of the Xiangtan Hi-Tech Zone, and set up a bridge of cooperation between Germany and China.

• On Aug. 30^th, business representatives of Air Liquid, a French world top 500 company, visited Xiangtan Hi-Tech Industrial Zone and investigated the market and investment environment in Xiangtan.

• On Sep. 16^th - 18^th, 6 enterprises of the Xiangtan Hi-Tech Industrial Zone participated in the 2nd China (Xiangtan) Qi Baishi International Cultural Art Festival and 2 foreign-funded projects signed the contract during this festival.

• On Sep. 15^th, TueV SueD Group Guangzhou Branch, the world famous technique service company invited representatives of Xiangtan Hi-Tech Industrial Zone to participate in the "Guangzhou Germany Beer Festival" in Guangzhou Grand Hotel. The representatives from Xiangtan Hi-Tech Zone had a further communication with Mr. Tandetzki, the general manager of TueV SueD Group Guangzhou Branch, and get to know that TueV SueD is going to establish an agency and several offices in the middle area of China, probably there will be an office in Xiangtan. In Nov. he will visit Xiangtan for further investigation and negotiation.
