Xiangtan (Germany) Industrial Park

The German Industrial Park in Xiangtan is a customized industrial park established to conform the trend of industrial shifting and Chinese market exploring among German small & mid-sized businesses. The Park utilizes local industrial foundation and rich human resource advantages, and accommodates advanced German technologies, management systems and excellent products. Businesses in the Park can realize mutual advantage support and development.

Hunan Science & Technology University and Munich Federal Defense Force University of Germany have reviewed the park project recommendation and feasibility study report. Central-Southern University has worked out the commercial plan. Shanghai Tongji University provided a high-standard detailed layout.

State Environmental Protection Agency and Ministry of Science & Technology have defined the park as:

> an environmental protection industry base
> an international scientific & technological cooperation base
> a mechanical and electrical industry integration base

The park is located in the south of the city with 4,150,000 m2 land, including:

> 2,970,000 m2 production area
> 190,000 m2 Torch Innovation Park
> 290,000 m2 service area
> 370,000 m2 commercial area
> 330,000 m2 roads and others

The park focuses on developing environment friendly electrical and mechanical manufactory industries. It is planned to build a Sino-German Small & Medium Enterprise Cooperation Base and a Sino-German Environmental Protection Industry Base.

Since the park project launched in April 2003, 200 million Yuan RMB have been invested on its infrastructure and 800,000 m2 land with "7-Connection & 1-Leveling" have been developed.

The park has received over 50 groups of German guests; Meanwhile, it has also attracted visitors from over 10 countries and regions, such as Norway, France, Korea, Japan, the U.S., Holland, Austria, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

So far, 29 projects have entered the park, including 11 Sino-German joint-venture and cooperative projects. Over 20 other projects are expected to proceed.
